You know, there aren't too many things I enjoy more than good, classic diner food. Sterling nails it! The menu is quite large. I went for breakfast and the pancakes were spot on. The service is good. My waitress had a smile but didn't linger or make unnecessary small talk. She was all business. The gentleman working the grill-and I LOVE to be able to see my food being made in front of me-was wearing a holster with a firearm. Hey, to each his own. Wild Bill Hickok could sure make a mean plate of scrambled eggs, that's for sure. The place has been around since the 50's and definitely has an old school, no nonsense vibe to it. Don't expect anything fancy, but you aren't going to leave hungry!
Stopped here for breakfast on a work trip. Was in and out in 20 minutes, great service, affordable and good food!
I ordered 3 big breakfasts and a sandwich the lady answering the phone help me order she said the French toast was amazing so I order it. Okay I must say the French toast I ate it so fast .. the next thing I knew my food was gone and I wanted more . If you are in Wilmington Delaware stop by sterling grill the food is so delicious. And the prices is just right. I think I will do a repeat tomorrow morning. Join me friends.
Cozy local neighborhood breakfast spot tucked away in downtown Wilmington. Food isn't anything out of the ordinary (I had the french toast and coffee), but is okay at reasonable prices, and there is friendly service and plenty of seating. Only open on weekdays in 1st half.
We had a fantastic breakfast two days in a row while staying at the Hotel DuPont. Very good food and excellent service. Great neighborhood Grill!

Sterling is a nice spot to grab a quick breakfast downtown on a weekday. One time I stopped by there while on a time crunch so I asked how long the big breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes) would take to make and the man answered "5 minutes, want to time me?". Well I did time him and he was right on. They offer friendly service with a tough of humor in the mornings . The prices are great, you can get a big breakfast for under $7. I enjoy the hot cakes and french toast. I know they serve lunch as well, but I still haven't tried it. They close at 2pm.
